E-AHPBA 2023 Biennial Congress invites all interested individuals to submit abstracts for Oral and ePoster presentations.

Important Dates
- Abstract Submission deadline: 24 January 2023 (2359hrs, GMT + 1hrs)
- Notification of Acceptance: 22 March 2023 onwards
Abstract Submission Instructions

Abstracts shall be submitted electronically through the Congress website.

The abstract must be written in English.
-
Abstracts for Oral session and ePoster presentation are limited to 250 words.
-
One table and/or one image may be included in the abstract and will count as one word each in your word count.

Tables/Images must be placed at the end of your abstract.
-
Abstracts which have been previously presented at national meetings can be submitted to E-AHPBA.
-
Work presented at national meetings or international meetings other than E-AHPBA may also be submitted to E-AHPBA.

Work which has previously been presented at E-AHPBA should not be re-submitted.

In relation to clinical work, it is encouraged that all work should have been reviewed and approved by institutional or regional ethics boards and that all co-authors must be familiar with the final submitted abstract.

In relation to basic science work, it is obligatory to provide a statement in the text of the abstract confirming ethics committee review of work.

All successful abstract presenters will be notified and must register for the meeting.

Accepted Oral and ePoster abstracts will be published in an online Congress supplement of E-AHPBA’s official partner journal HPB.

When you submit an abstract online, your abstract will automatically be edited according to the E-AHPBA 2023 Biennial Congress submission formats.

Late submissions after 10 January 2023 will not be accepted.
Structure:
The abstracts should be structured in the following four sections:

Introduction: indicates the purpose of the study

Methods: describe pertinent experimental procedures
-
Results: summarize the results of the research
-
Conclusion: state the main conclusions
Topics
The authors should choose one topic only for every abstract submitted. If an abstract relates to more than one of the topics below, please select the most appropriate one.

Presenters are are only permitted to submit a maximum of 2 abstracts for Oral presentation. No limit is set for abstracts submitted for Video or ePoster presentation.

It is the submitting author’s responsibility to submit a correct abstract. Any errors in spelling, grammar or scientific fact will be published as typed by the author, if accepted. Poor English may be a cause for rejection.

If you do not complete the submission process, your information will be held in “draft” until you return later to complete your submission. Please note that your abstract must be fully submitted, before the deadline of 10 January 2023, to be considered for the Congress.

Changes to the abstract are possible until 10 January 2023 through your personal “My Submissions” page, which can be accessed with the link included in the electronic acknowledgement of receipt.

The submitting author will receive all correspondence concerning the abstract and is responsible for informing the other co-authors of the status of the abstract.

Acknowledgement of abstract submission will be sent to the stated email address. If you do not receive the confirmation within 24 hours of submission, please contact E-AHPBA 2023 Abstract Department at eahpba2023.scientific@eahpba.org.

Notification of acceptance/rejection of the abstracts will be emailed to the submitting author on or after 22 March 2023. Full Oral presentation specifications will be made available on the website and forwarded with the abstract acceptance.

ePoster presentation will be uploaded in advance of the Congress. Further details will be provided with the acceptance notifications.

Upon acceptance of the abstract, all presenting authors are expected to register and present their abstract in person at the Congress. Abstracts will be published in the Congress supplement of the HPB Journal only if the presenting author has registered and is fully paid by 19 April 2023.
Presenting authors not registered and paid by 19 April 2023 may have their abstracts removed from the Book of Abstracts.
Submission of Manuscripts for HPB
For Oral presentations, E-AHPBA 2023 Biennial Congress would like to encourage manuscript submission to HPB, although not mandatory. Please note publication is not guaranteed.
